Built in Victoria in 2025 with a simple idea: laundromats should actually be good.
Our Story
Local Laundry Lounge was founded by Tim and Simon and launched in 2025 with a straightforward premise: self-service laundromats in Australia had not kept pace with how people actually live. Outdated machines, coin-only payment, no seating, and inconvenient locations made an everyday task harder than it needed to be.
We set out to build something different — laundromats located where people already go, fitted with the best commercial equipment available, and designed to make the time you spend there feel productive rather than wasted.
Our first location opened at The Square, Ashbury in Armstrong Creek, serving the fast-growing Geelong corridor communities. Our second followed in St Albans, in Melbourne's western suburbs — positioned at the Sunshine Avenue convenience centre alongside the M80 on and off ramps for easy access. Two more locations are in development for 2026.

Modern Equipment
We fitted every location with commercial-grade Huebsch washers — 14kg, 18kg, and 27kg — and energy-efficient dryers, so you spend less time waiting and more time getting on with your day.
Accessible Hours
We're open 5am to midnight, seven days a week, including public holidays. Laundry should fit around your life, not the other way around.
Comfortable Spaces
Every location has air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, seating, TVs, and a vending machine. You can sit, work, or relax — not stand in a car park waiting.
Transparent Pricing
Flat pricing, no hidden fees. Free washing powder is included at every location. We also accept card, cash, and QR code — whatever works for you.
Sustainability
Our Huebsch machines are designed to use less water and energy per kilogram of laundry than home machines. Washing larger loads less often reduces consumption further. Where the building permits, we install solar panels and battery storage to reduce our reliance on the grid.
Where We're Headed
We're expanding across Victoria with two new locations scheduled to open in 2026 — Maiden Gully and Warralily. Both follow the same model: accessible locations, modern Huebsch equipment, and the same open hours and amenities our current customers rely on.
Beyond our network of locations, we're investing in tools that make using a laundromat smarter. Our Washer Radar feature already shows real-time machine availability across all open locations, so you can check before you leave home and never arrive to find every machine taken.
