Where are your laundromats located?

We currently have two open locations in Victoria, both open seven days a week from 5am to midnight, including public holidays.

The Square, AshburyUnit 6/364 Horseshoe Bend Rd, Armstrong Creek VIC 3217. You'll find us inside The Square on Horseshoe Bend Road, minutes from Waurn Ponds, the Geelong Ring Road, and the Surf Coast turnoff, with free on-site parking. We serve Armstrong Creek, Mount Duneed, Charlemont, Grovedale, Waurn Ponds, and Torquay.

St Albans53 Sunshine Ave, St Albans VIC 3021. We're in the Sunshine Avenue convenience centre alongside McDonald's, Starbucks, Zambrero, and 7-Eleven, right at the Western Ring Road (M80) on and off ramps, with free parking. We serve St Albans, Sunshine North, Kings Park, Albanvale, Keilor Downs, and Deer Park.

New laundromats are opening in Maiden Gully (mid August 2026) and Warralily in 2026. Check live machine availability anytime at locallaundrylounge.com.au/washer-radar.

What are your opening hours?

Both of our laundromats are open 5am to midnight, seven days a week, including public holidays — that's 19 hours every day. Whether you prefer an early morning wash before work, a quick load at lunchtime, or a late-night run after the kids are in bed, you can fit laundry around your schedule with no appointment needed.

Because our commercial-grade Huebsch washer-extractors spin out most of the moisture before drying, a full wash and dry usually takes only around 40–55 minutes from start to finish, so even a late visit is quick.

You can also check which washers and dryers are currently free before you leave home using our Washer Radar feature at locallaundrylounge.com.au/washer-radar — it shows real-time machine availability across every open location, so you never arrive to find everything in use. Our upcoming Maiden Gully and Warralily locations will follow the same 5am–midnight hours.

What types of washing machines and dryers do you have?

Our laundromats are fitted with commercial-grade Huebsch washer-extractors and energy-efficient dryers. The washers are washer-extractors — they spin at very high speed at the end of the cycle to extract a large amount of moisture from your load before it goes into the dryer. This reduces drying time considerably compared with a standard home machine, saving you both time and money.

Washers come in three sizes:

14kg ($8) — everyday loads such as clothes and gym gear.

18kg ($11) — bigger loads including sheets, towels, and small doonas.

27kg ($14) — king-size bedding, bulky items, and large family or commercial loads.

Dryers come in 13kg ($1 per 6 minutes) and 20kg ($1 per 4 minutes) sizes. A typical wash runs about 22 minutes and drying adds roughly 20–35 minutes. Huebsch machines are known for their reliability, efficiency, and gentle handling of every fabric type.

How do I pay?

Each location features a large 32" touchscreen payment kiosk that guides you through selecting your machine, choosing your cycle, and paying in just a few taps. Prefer to stay seated? Every machine also has its own QR code you can scan to launch the same payment flow directly on your phone.

We accept cash, credit card, debit card, and contactless or QR payment at all machines, and there's no account or app required to wash and dry. Card payments carry no surcharge.

We also run a loyalty program with member promotions — percentage discounts on washes and dryers, and bonus wallet credit when you top up. You can see our current offers in store, on the promotions page at locallaundrylounge.com.au/promo, and on our website. Free concentrated washing powder is included with every wash, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Do you provide detergent or can I bring my own?

We provide complimentary concentrated laundry powder at every location, and it's already included in the price of your wash — there's nothing extra to buy. The powder we use is effective across a wide range of fabrics and is gentler on the environment than many standard retail detergents, while still delivering a thorough clean.

You're also very welcome to bring your own detergent, fabric softener, or specialty products if you prefer a particular brand or have sensitive skin. If you do, please place them in the designated detergent compartments inside the machine drawer rather than pouring liquid detergent directly into the drum, unless the product specifically states it's suitable for front-loading machines.

Because our 14kg, 18kg, and 27kg washers handle larger loads than a home machine, you'll generally use less detergent overall per item of clothing — another small saving every wash.

Is there free Wi-Fi?

Yes — fast, complimentary Wi-Fi is available at all Local Laundry Lounge locations. Just connect to the Local Laundry Lounge network — there's no password required and no sign-in form to fill out.

A standard wash cycle takes around 22 minutes. Because our machines are washer-extractors that spin out most of the moisture at the end of the wash, a dry cycle typically adds only another 20–35 minutes, for a total of roughly 40–55 minutes start to finish. That's plenty of time to catch up on emails, stream a show, do some study, or get a bit of work done at our seating.

Every location also has air-conditioning, comfortable seating, and TVs, so you can stay productive or simply relax while you wait. If you'd rather run an errand, check live machine status first at locallaundrylounge.com.au/washer-radar.

What can I do whilst I wait?

Our laundromats are designed to make the wait comfortable and productive. Every location has air-conditioning, comfortable seating, fast free Wi-Fi (connect to the Local Laundry Lounge network, no password), and flat-screen TVs, plus a vending machine for a drink or snack.

A typical wash cycle takes around 22 minutes. Because our Huebsch machines are washer-extractors that spin out excess moisture before the cycle ends, drying is quicker than you might expect — usually just 20–35 minutes, so a full wash and dry comes in at around 40–55 minutes.

The comfortable environment means you don't need to sit in your car or rush back from a nearby shop. If you'd prefer to step out, you can check which machines are free and roughly when your load will finish using Washer Radar at locallaundrylounge.com.au/washer-radar before you head back.

Can I see which washers and dryers are available before going into the laundromat?

Yes! Our Washer Radar feature shows the real-time status of every washer and dryer across all open locations. Before you leave home, you can see exactly which machines are available, which are in use, and which are temporarily out of service — so there are no wasted trips and no waiting around for a machine to free up.

Visit locallaundrylounge.com.au/washer-radar, or tap Washer Radar in the navigation menu, then choose your location. The dashboard updates automatically as machines start and finish, so the information is always current.

It's especially handy at busy times like evenings and weekends, or if you're bringing a large load and need one of our 27kg washers or 20kg dryers. Washer Radar covers both the Ashbury and St Albans laundromats today, and new locations will be added as they open.

Do you have any commercial business offers?

Yes — we regularly work with businesses that have ongoing or high-volume laundry needs, including accommodation providers, short-stay operators, gyms, sports clubs, cleaning companies, and hospitality businesses. Our 27kg washers and 20kg dryers are ideal for commercial loads such as linen, towels, and uniforms, and our 5am–midnight hours make it easy to fit laundry around shift work.

We can talk through your typical volumes and turnaround needs and provide information on commercial pricing and arrangements to suit your business. Many commercial customers also use Washer Radar to plan visits around machine availability.
